Platinum Roof Protection Plan
The service contract only covers the repair of leaks to your home’s roof caused by normal wear and tear or deterioration for a period of five years after the inspection. Any other item is excluded from the warranty.
This roofing policy encompasses all roof types. These include metal roofs, slate roofs, tile roofs, asphalt shingles, and non-commercial flat roofs. It only applies to your home and excludes all other structures.
Each individual leak has a $500 deductible. If your claim involves multiple leaks, this deductible applies for each one. Should the repair cost of your roof cost less than $500, the homeowner has to pay the entire amount. Likewise, if the roof covering needs replacing, the homeowner is responsible for its cost.
Any repair you complete under this roof warranty is guaranteed for the remainder of the term. Moreover, this policy has an aggregate limit of $3000 during its five-year coverage. After this, the policy doesn’t cover additional claims.
Instead of payment to a service provider, payment to the homeowner can be requested on any claim. It may be the best option if a roof replacement is being considered.
Items This Roof Warranty Doesn’t Cover
It doesn’t cover defects recognized during the home inspection or any resulting leak due to it. If the inspector noted leaks, damage, worn materials, or improper installation, the homeowner must fix or remedy these conditions as the warranty doesn’t cover them.
This plan isn’t an insurance policy, so it doesn’t cover any following damage from a leak. It doesn’t encompass repairs necessary due to neglect or lack of maintenance or damage from external elements, such as flood, lightning, fire, etc.
This Platinum Protection Plan is neither a workmanship warranty nor a roofing material warranty. You receive workmanship warranties from the roofing contractor that installed the new roof. Manufacturers provide roofing material warranties, and they typically cover roofing shingles and other roofing materials.
